• Green Baby: Cariboo Activity Gym

  As babies, all three of my children delighted in their activity gym -- of course, considering they all shared the same ancient Sesame Street gym we scored for $3 from a yard sale in the pre-lead-awareness era, all three of them have probably suffered irreparable damage we'll only learn about later when they can't hold a job and start forgetting their own names. Maybe if we'd carved our own gym from sustainable New Zealand Radiata pine, like the folks at Cariboo have with this rather awesome-looking (and lead-stain-free) Activity Gym ($160), we could've spared the boys a lifetime of agony.   You already know I'm a huge fan of the Taggies brand, which tends towards extremely colorful creations; but this similarly-themed turtle toy from designer Rose Breyla has won me over despite its monochromatic simplicity.
