I've tried every gimmick on the market to get my kids to wash their hands more often and more thoroughly -- the foam, the cute liquid dispenser, the transparent glycerin with a toy trapped inside it like an insect in amber. Nothing really makes a dent in the dirt. So from now on I'm going to buy soap I like.
Saipua soaps are pretty perfect. They smell and feel great ,and they don't crack and get gnarly-looking after 2 days. A Brooklyn-based couple (who own a flower/soap shop called Saipua, which comes from the Finnish word for soap) whip the bars up out of food-grade olive oil, herbs, butters, natural
extracts and essential oils -- no artificial dyes or fragrance. The Mango Butter bar is rich and gentle enough for babies. The only problem is their packaging; it's so nice, you may not want to wash your hands after all.
