B. Braithwaite in Atlanta is one of the most beautiful kid stores in
the world. It's like a fantasy shop you'd see in a 1930s movie. You simply step into a white cloud of luxury when you enter.
Everything they sell has great style, very particular to its buyers:
owner Chaffee Braithwaite and her mother, Nancy, go to Paris to shop
for new things you won't find anywhere else. Best of all, not
everything is killer expensive. On a recent visit I found these sheep stools. Even though I needed
new baby furniture like the proverbial hole in the head, I couldn't resist. I knew
I wouldn't see them again. They're handmade, and the
heads are left intentionally abstract, with that slightly odd character
I like to find in a kid's room. You
can buy one, but I think these look best in pairs. You can rearrange them
at night, so that in the morning your child can wake up believing that the sheep milled around, grazing, as she slept.
