I
find the confusion of the term ‘mummy’ (as in a bandaged and wrapped
corpse ) and ‘mummy’ (as in mommy, mother, momma) totally amusing. My
daughter can not comprehend why a Mummy is called a mummy. She knows
that ‘Mummy’ is a highfalutin term for mother, but has yet to grasp the
whole idea that the same word can be used for very different things.
