Move over, American Girl. Karito Kids dolls are phthalate-free vinyl and soft-body dolls with gorgeous (and different) sculpted faces, histories, and books. Unlike American Girls, they're not all American (imagine!), nor do they all sport identical buck teeth. At 21 inches tall, you're also getting a bit more doll for your money. Don't even get me started on the KidsGive philosophy of kindness and charity and unity; I'd be all over that even if the dolls weren't stunning, which they are.
Lovely Ling is shown here; she and her buddies can be had at FAO Schwarz for $100 each. (Consider these dolls for display only until their owner is 6 or so, please.)
