  Elmo smells a Christmastime three-peat! Fisher-Price announced today a new Elmo doll that they promise will be the "most engaging and entertaining Elmo product ever." Apparently Elmo Live will move his mouth like the muppet, tell jokes, sit, stand, and even cross his legs. • Spit Up: TMX eXtra Special Edition Totally Different Elmo

  Does the world really need another Elmo? Really? Wasn't last year's furor over the Elmo TMX enough to teach us that -- hello -- no battery-chomping toy with a voice that annoying is worth a bidding war on eBay? Apparently not. Because they've baited the hook again, and now even if you have an Elmo TMX you're supposed to be dying for the eXtra Special Edition being released this year for the holidays. In addition to costing too much and a laugh track that sounds like a hyena in a tin can, this version of Elmo has "silly surprises" that can only be "unlocked" if you play with him the proper sequence... and you can get clues as to those patterns by checking the website every week from now through January. I see he's already available for pre-order on Amazon for up to close to $100. Here's a clue: Skip it.
