Gwyneth Reads Eric Carle!
What’s better than a CD of our favorite Eric Carle books? One of our favorite moms reading the classic stories.
Gwyneth Paltrow lends her acting chops and gentle voice to four of Eric Carle’s “what do you see” classics, inclinding Brown Bear, Polar Bear, Panda Bear and Baby Bear in Brown Bear and Friends, a new book on CD from Macmillan Audio Books.
Perfect for popping in the CD changer and handing your tot the book version for car rides, Gwynnie brings these animal tales to life the way a true mom (or dad) always does – by doing all the “voices.” Spanish versions of each, plus a copy of Brown Bear voiced by Carle’s co-author Bill Martin Jr. help round out the hour-long disc, but in total geek fashion, I have to admit the two best tracks come at the end. They’re two parts of an interview with the man himself. Carle talks about finding his way into children’s books – beginning with Brown Bear, Brown Bear. With a hint of his German accent still remaining, he sounds like a bit of a cuddly bear himself!
