Posted by Cathy Hale

Parents who use Moses baskets, swear by them! Days with a newborn are much easier if you can move a sleeping baby around safely from room-to-room. You might even get a few things done! This Peter Baby Carry Basket by Picci offers a contemporary twist on the traditional Moses basket.

The bedding features a green dasiy print and the matching comforter is trimmed in red. The handles are wrapped in plastic so moving baby is a snap! Check it out on Overstock.com for $180. If you want to compare prices, just click on the "Online Best Price Match" button.

I use a very similar basket and love it. What I don't get though is the addition of the blanket. I don't understand why baskets and cots and bedding sets are sold with a whole lot of extra trimmings (pillows, blankets and bumpers etc) that are considered in all the SIDS safety recommendations to be dangerous.

I think that this is the sort of thing you let your baby snooze in during the day while you're keeping a watchful eye.  I would never leave a baby in a moses basket unsupervised.
