First Look: Cate & Levi Collection

One of a kind toys for the savvy green parent.

Another gem from the New York Gift Show…this one was found in a tucked away corner of the “Handmade” section.  Cate& Levi plush animals are brimming full of personality.  In fact, No two Cate & Levi design will ever be the same.

Each animal is handmade from colorful reclaimed wool (the sweetest sweaters you’ve ever seen), whose hues and textures are individually selected. Josh Title the owner (and dad of Cate and Levi) makes all these delightful creatures in his Toronto studio.  In essence, he hopes to send his plush friends from his home to yours—cutting out all the waste in between.  Since he isn't hiring a factory to knit his wares, every animal is unique and can never to be duplicated. Plus, they are cutting down on all emissions by keeping things as local as possible.

The Cate & Levi Collection ($79 for a large animal at monkeygrass.com) comes in a variety of familiar silhouettes: cow, giraffe, etc. and a few funkier friends such as the platypus and stingray.
