The Diaper Bag is the Bag for Baby: Good Idea???

Posted by Erin Behan

My husband and I have joked about it before, "Honey, Can you just put the baby in the diaper bag, too?" We were kidding, of course, but the Kemby people are quite serious. They have combined the diaper bag and the baby carrier into one seamless product called the Sidekick. And I can't decide how I feel about it. On the one hand, you'd never forget your diaper bag (as I have), on the other, you're carrying the weight of said baby (it's good for up to 35 pounds of baby who has head contol) AND all of baby's accessories. And you're not saving any cashola--the Kemby Sidekick is $172, about the price of a diaper bag and a carrier. Anybody try this? Love it? Hate it?

look where that strap is positioned on the neck..that doesn't look like a very well designed carrier for just baby, let alone with the added weight of a diaper bag.

Just got this from the Kemby peeps:::

The owners just wanted to make clear that you and the readers understand that the Sidekick is a quick and simple way for moms on the go to be hands free when they need to be however it is not a “carrier” that should be confused with your everyday sling, pouch, mei tai all daycarrier. It is a not a babywearing method. It is a unique feature of a hip diaper bag.
