Spit Up: Would You Let Beyonce Dress Your Daughter?

Posted by SunnyChanel

First, I should confess that I have a soft spot for Destiny’s Child and pop mega hits like Crazy In Love. As far as roll models go, Beyonce is like a modern day Mother Teresa when compared to Lindsay, Brittany and that train wreck of an entertainer Amy Whinehouse. But although she hasn’t been arrested, locked in the looney bin or gone to rehab, I’m still not going to let her dress my kid.

Coming soon from House of Dereon, Beyonce’s clothing company with her designer mother (who happens to design a bulk of Beyonce’s stage clothing), will be Dereon for girls.  Perhaps the individual pieces won’t be as bad as the mash up of styles in the ad. Feather boas? Stilletos? Lip Gloss? As the blogster at Plastic Pundit  aptly observed, the kids look like “ghetto burlesque gypsies”. I couldn’t agree more. Check it out yourself once it’s launced at: House Of Dereon

Is this a joke? They look like child hookers. Ridiculous. And sad.

Actually, I think the feather boas are probably the most age-appropriate items in the ad!  My daughter frequently played dress-up with hers from age 2 to age 6.
