Move Over Terry Cloth, Leather Bibs Are In

Posted by Lisa Mulcahy

Leather certainly wouldn’t be my first choice of fabric for a bib, but the more I think about it the more it makes sense. Before having kids I used to think of leather as a delicate luxury. But after seeing how gracefully my leather living room chairs have endured abuse, like sippy cup splashes, spit-up and smeared on sweet potatoes, I’m sold on leather as a kid-friendly fabric. So the functionality of this bib may not be so farfetched.

It’s a bold statement, but Mally Bibs claims their leather bib is “The only one you’ll ever need.” Simply wipe it clean after use and you’re good to go. It’s also reversible and has a magnetic closure, which is a handy way to hang it on the fridge. It comes in a wide variety of styles. I like this ladybug one that’s $29.95 at Polka Dot Whale.
