7 Days of Playrooms: Paintable Teepee

There are many reasons I love my grandmother: her undivided attention, unlimited chocolate chip cookies, card games on the beach. However, one of my strongest memories of her is building a teepee together deep in her backyard woods. Of course, building a teepee in the woods isn’t a year-round option, which is why kids have playrooms, and why I think having a year-round indoor teepee in the playroom is genius.

Of the options, the Natural Frontier teepee ($99) from the Land of Nod fits all the necessary criteria.  It’s made of durable cotton canvas and is assembled, much like my teepee in the woods, from wooden poles. And the blank canvas allows kids to paint with either acrylic or latex paints and stencils are included, so not only is it a teepee, it’s also an art project. That’s two rainy days in one.
