First things first: I don't own a gun, and I don't believe in keeping one. That said, I'd buy my three boys this Sharp Shootin' Remote Control ($9.99 from Amazon) in a minute, if only to re-train them on how to approach the idiot box. It borrows one function from your TV's remote -- for example, channel up, channel down, or the only one I'd program, power off -- and sounds a cartoonish "BANG!" every time you point and shoot at the tube. It even comes with a sheriff's badge so you can drive home the point that this family room ain't big enough for the both of us. (Tip-off via Swiss Miss.)
