Good Night Light

Posted by Meredith Broussard

A few years ago (and by 'few' I may mean a number in the double digits), these spinning night lights were all the rage. I remember walking by a novelty lighting store on lower Broadway and looking at the nightlights in the window and wishing I had a good reason to buy one. The one I loved was an aquarium scene, and as it spun it projected multi-colored fish and coral and crabs and leafy greens through a rice paper screen. I probably would have broken down and bought one for myself, but my sister had a baby and saved me. The baby, once she could talk, insisted on having her fish lamp turned on every night before bed.

It's hard to find these online in the US, but they seem to be common in the UK. Pirates, fairies, and the coveted fish are available for £32.99 at Great Little Trading Co.
