Too funny. Growing up I was usually out from sun up to sun down and sometimes later. And I have fond memories of the adventures I had earlier than I should have. :-) These days I think they put kids in summer day camp. Those Here's a list for you:

Just got back from Visiting NYC yesterday. We did the Museam uf Natural History. The Dragons, Unicorns Mermaids sold out quick. But there is always the Dinos and we saw the frog exhibit. The NY Childrens Museam is actually fun but the other museams in NY are kind of boring for kids. Going to the top of the Empire State Building is one of my faves The Bronx Zoo is always great. Also went to the NY aquarium, that kinda sucked in comparison to the the aquarium of the Pacific or the Monterey Bay aquarium (spoiled i guess) but it was cool to see Coney Island and Astroland again (which by the way they are tearing down in the next year or two).

There is always stuff to do at the Chelsea piers on the west side. My suggestion is to pick up a copy of the Voice and the local free press when you get in to see what is going on around town. Good luck on your travels

We just got back from New York. FAO Schwartz is open, or at least it was two weeks ago. We also like the empire state building and central park. And we spent quite a bit of time at bryant park as well.

Former NYer now on the west coast here - ride the Staten Island Ferry! Don't make the mistake of spending any time in Staten Island - just turn around and come back. It's cheap and there's nothing like seeing Manhattan from the water, even post-9/11.

Yeah, FAO Schwarz is a must. Wandering Central Park can be good (there's a zoo). A two-story McDonald's? Or am I the only one impressed by that? (Times Square). Riding subways? Escalators in tall buildings? There's some hotel at Times Square (you can totally tell where I spent my time) where there's a long escalator *and* a view. Oh, and skip the $12 burger at Tavern on the Green (which is likely a $22 burger now); in fact, skip that place entirely.

How about art? MOMA? the Whitney? Fun!

Uhh...did you even pack a wrench?

Mrs. K you are hilarious! Have fun in New YAWK. Yankees game should be a blast even if they are the evil empire. You should totally take jackson to FAO schwartz. And maybe to coney island! and stuff him full of food off the street carts!
